Arriving from Vang Vieng in the early evening we decided to have a quiet night in before the day of activity that followed. It was also nice to relax after the manic that was Vang Vieng . Having left a few of the group that had joined us behind we are now back down to 8.
On 08/04 we awoke early in hope that we could do everything that we wanted to do in the city in our limited timeframe. This included the National Laos museum, I guess what you compare to the national war museum in London.. but with far less detail - due to some poor translating from the signs. Still, we got the jist of what they meant.
After visiting the Laos National Sports Stadium, that they just let us wander into ( I doubt the same would happen at Wembley) - we then headed to the Arc De Triumpth style monument in the city centre, built by the French many years ago, as was the much of the rest of the city as you can tell by the architecture.
In hindsight a day was probably enough for Vietiene, especially with the thought of Vietnam on the horizon.
Next Stop: Hanoi, Vietnam
