After another leisurely morning we headed for Lower Manhattan and toured Battery Park for a closer picture of the Stature of Liberty and numerous memorials. Setting off with Cindy, I photographed Arturo Di Modica's "Charging Bull."
Then on a more somber note, we toured the 9/11 Memorial reflecting pools that sit in the footprints of the old World Trade Center Twin Towers. This is a very moving and effective tribute to a world gone awry, especially as the newer and larger WTC towers loom overhead.
That night we had dinner with Cindy's kids and their spouses at the Savoia, a really quaint Italian
restaurant where my homemade Buckwheat pasta with goat cheese was scrumptous.
After another leisurely brunch, I headed for LGA and the trip back to Canada. Homeland security shunned my hand-in card so I released it to the American Airlines boarding staff - hopefully it will wend its way into the system.
