Our goal today was to get from Bear Lake to Ft. Nelson which is 450 miles and we made it!! We are on the Alaska-Canada Highway!

However, we got news today of a very dear friend, Bob Snyder, passed away during the night.  He was grandma's best friend and will be missed by all the Hartzler's as well as many other people - Bob was a friend to all. Our prayers are with his family.

We saw lots of critters today.......moose (they get up early and we did too!), ground hogs (I know you see lots of them too, but not like the ones in the Rockies!), black bear, caribou and I think a procuppine!

Tomorrow we head for the hot springs in Laird.  Looking forward to soaking our tired, old bodies in the springs, then on to Whitehorse.

Hope to see Alaska and Bruce soon!

Everyone take care........thanks for following our travels.

Sandy,
Kenny is going on a mission on Sunday and won't be returning until Saturday the 12th. I don't know how long your stay in Alaska will be or WHERE you will be but wanted to pass this on. I'll keep following your journey!

Excellent job on you blog Sandy, and I know how hard it must be posting something everyday after a hard days ride. You guys are going to look back on this trip as one of your greatest adventures. Back in 1965 I headed for Niagara Falls on a bike from Marshallville, and turned around at Cleveland.
We'll do some celebrating for your accomplishment when ya all arrive. "Great Going."
