What a gorious day in the Canadian Rockies! We left Banff at approximately 8AM headed northwest through the Rockies to our next stop north of Prince George, Bear Lake.
We would recommend the trip from Banff through the Banff National Forest to anyone! It is a sight to behold - it's the most beautiful area we've ever seen. It's breathtaking! The mountains, blue sky, crystal clear streams makes for a beautiful ride! Don McClelland was right - he said it would be a beautiful ride and that it was!
It started out cold on the bike but we didn't mind with our heated suits! (thank you Dave!) And, of course, Porter's didn't mind - they were in the car where they could turn on the heat! ha, ha.
Please note picture of Randy in car. Tom and I insist they wear their helmets and roll all their windows down so they can get the full effect!
First stop was Lake Louise just north of Banff. What a beautiful sight - the lake with the mountains all around it. I hope our pictures do it justice!
The mountains smell great too. Lots of clean fresh air, pine and honeysuckle. I hope everyone gets to experience the ride sometime in your lifetime.
We met a gentleman from Florida riding to Alaska and another one from Maryland. All by themselves, but enjoying the ride. They didn't think we were crazy riding that far - there riding even farther!!
We saw black bear, mule & white tail deer and caribou today!
Hope all enjoyed their memorial day. 'til next time...........thanks for following along.
Tom, Sandy, Linda and Randy
PS Wish I was in as good shape as Robin Gigax and Gene Schaaf - both horse riders! I wish I would have thought to get in shape for this ride by riding with you on a horse the last few months!
