Woke at 7, breaky and pack up. Did a s food shop at the Ayton IGA. Then off to the old weir to throw the line. No luck so headed back to boat ramp. No luck!

Time to start the journey on the Bloomfield Track to daintree. The road is still pretty rough. Some of the bad areas have been concreted to make it easier to get up as its fairly steep.

There are about 3 small river crossing which are about wheel hight. Nothing severe. I let Dan do one and on the other side we met up with some people who live an hour south from Sydney.

Greg and Gabrielle, Greg is a hang glider instructor and has invited us to have a fly. So we might take him up on the offer when we get closer.

We dropped in and visited the Jungle bugs and butterflies museum on Turpentine rd, Cape Tribulation. Great experience seeing all the local insects.

Stopped in at Cow Bay for a home made ice cream. They are simply the best.

We are now stuck at the Daintree river ferry crossing. The line behind is about 600 meters of traffic, waiting to get over. The ferry can only take around 15 cars. It's a slow process.

Just prior to the ferry. About ten km before. Whilst driving at a slow pace. A cassowary and chick past in front of the car. Not really scared just walking at a slow pace. Looking after her chick. This is a really rare thing to see in the wild. Photos to

Boarded the ferry at 16:20. It's only a five minute journey across the mighty Daintree. Price hasn't changed from last year at $13.00 bucks.

We have set up camp at the Daintree Caravan Park. Threw the line in and nil joy on the fishing front. Heading into Town for a pizza. Then maybe some more fishing if the tide comes back in or early night.

Cheers from Daintree. .
