The most obvious differences between Indian cities and Kuala Lumpar:

In India when locals need a number 1or number 2 the custom seems to be to drop your pants at side of the road and do your business there. In KL people use toilets with loos, paper, flushing water and soap to wash afterwards.

In KL the roads are covered in Tarmac and traffic drives on the left. In India tarmac seems to be optional outside New Delhi, and you can drive on any side of the road, or the middle if you feel like it.

In KL they have pavements - in India they have open sewers.

In India you throw rubbish anywhere you want and nobody bats an eyelid. In KL there are bins and there is no rubbish on the streets - oh, and nobody so far has been heard spitting either J

In India cows wander the streets, eat off the poor peoples foodstalls and poo anywhere they want. In Malaysia the cows live in fields, and when nice and plump, they are cooked on skewers over charcoal and service with lovely spicy satay sauce.

In KL things have a fixed (ish) price so you don’t spend hours fighting with stall holders. In India you feel like everyone is trying to rip you off every minute of the day.

And finally, in KL for 30 a night we have a glorious 4 star hotel where we can watch the BBC news, dead comfy bed and won't need to do any more comparisons with India ever again. We really loved the Indian experience, but we are very happy to have returned to civilisation J
