Tea Plantation Walk (in the rain)

Hello dear readers,

We decided to head into the hills to Munnar, the commercial centre of some of the world‘s highest tea-growing estates. The scruffy little town is definitely not much to look at but outside the town you are surrounded by tea plantations and gorgeous green scenery. We intended to explore the lush, tea filled mountains but we were greeted with more rain.

We knew we were travelling in Monsoon season but up until now we have had temperatures close to 40 degrees. It’s been brilliant and Tom has planned the itinerary perfectly so far, starting south and moving slowly north behind the monsoon.  Therefore, we put the rain and dampness in the air down to the fact that we were 1,500 metres above sea level in the hills. However, it has raised reservations about returning home. If we were cold when it is  28 degrees in India how the hell are we going to feel in England in September in 15 degrees (at most)……UGGS at the airport will be required.

Lots of Love,

Hollie and Thomas xxx
