Hello from Surf Camp,
So from Byron Bay our Oz Experience bus took us to Spot-X, the location of Mojosurf Camp. Here it was our aim to learn to surf, the most popular sport in Australia. We had been waiting to do this for a very long time as all we had seen along the East Coast was people surfing, and even before then in Brazil and Central America we had seen people surfing but we didn’t know how. Finally we would become surf dudes (and dudettes)!!!
So after meeting Josh our instructor and looking rather stupid practicing on the sand, we got to the water. I’m not really sure how to go about this but…. WE WERE AWESOME!!!! Hollie may never be the ultimate cowgirl but she actually could surf! On our first wave we both managed to stand up and ride the wave, and most importantly look cool. Rule No.1 of surfing is to look cool!!! We quickly found ourselves being very addicted and after 3 hours on the water we decided that we championed surfing, although aching and bruised. Surfing hurts more than you would think and for the next few days we were both rubbing our chests like we were having heart attacks. But we achieved rule No.2 of surfing: to have fun!
