Dubai is the place from where I started my journey across 6 UAE emirates.It's a city of extremes: desert dunes and camel racing on one side, ice skating and indoor skiing on the other side.As on previous visits, I went  straight to the old souk to smoke my shisha on the balcony of a traditional arab restaurant right on the dubai creek.
it's easy to cross to the othe side with one of the regular public ferries, and there, I walked up the promenade
passing huge wooden barks unloading  tons of goods from foreign countries.But also the popular excursion boats for tourists anchor right here.In the evening, there is an incredible amount of restaurants to choose from, there are some discos& many nightclubs, some  with  excellent belly dance, some with beautiful Indian lady dancers&singers catering to the many Indian expats living in dubai.
