We had the first snow in nearly two weeks and it snowed all day. Fourtunately, Beccy, Joe and I had the day off, along with others from Rentals and we went riding all day! It was my first experience of powder snow. It was awesome to be able to fall over and not get hurt like I have been doing the past 10 days as I've been learning. And the forecast is for more snow for the next 3 days!!! We were going to head up the mountain to ride today but the roads and lfts were closed due to the snow and wind. We're working tomorrow, but I'm hoping to get an extra hour for lunch so that I can have a good couple of hours in the fresh snow.
It was a bit chaotic leaving the mountain yesterday as 2 busses slid off the road into the ditch (on the up-hill side not down the steep side!) and we had to put chains on the car for the first time. Beccy and Helen (who works in Rentals) did a great job of fitting the chains.
We had to turn the car around to face down hill and joing the queue of traffic heading back to town so I tried to drive off but we weren't going anywhere so everyone got out and pushed to try to get us going. This went on for about 2 minutes with much scrambling at the back of the car, when Beccy tapped on the window and said "you've left the handbrake on haven't you?!!!". That was my moment for the day! It eventually took us an hour to dive back into town, which would usually take 20 minutes.
Check out the other pictures (and short vid) of town this morning, it looks stunning in the snow.
I hope you are all well and I wish you were here having fun in the snow!
Lots of love
