Did I mention it is hot here? Well if I didn't, it is. So now it's time to find a cooler place. Cerro Azul is exactly that place. I heard about it, but you have to see for yourself to be sure. It is very close to Tocumen Airport, just up the hill from there.

We drive up the mountain road (at times you wish for a truck with 4-wheel-drive or something), to find ourselves on top of Panama, with a view of the city that is spectacular. The air is cool, the breeze is comfortable, and my driver inquires of the locals about the climate in general. We find out that this is about as hot as it gets, nice! We are a good ten degrees lower than the city.

Soon we come across a mountain lake. If it were not for the tropical plants and trees, I would think I'm in the Alps. Just gorgeous. Short stop for coffee, one black, one con leche (for me) all for 75 cents. I think I could live here.

Hot, who would have guessed. But we're not jealous: not at all ... because we got up to a whopping 7C here today. Yes, most certainly wishing we were there with you, especially for your very neat side excursions.
