So we kept on walking until we came across, of all things, a Muslim restaurant! It was packed, had loud music and a free table for us. Our meal was delicious but the best part was when the staff turned up the music to celebrate a birthday. Gangnam Style played at full volume with people dancing in the aisles....very fun experience!
Shanghai is an amazing city. It is very green, modern, and clean. The two areas Puxi and Pudong are separated by a river. Today we drove through Pu dong to see the impressive skyscrapers. As Michael went off to meetings, we spent a great day with our guide, Eve! She took us to the Shanghai Science Museum and I must say it is one of the best museums I have ever seen. The initial plan was to spend a couple of hours there but once we were inside there was so much to see that we could not pull ourselves away. Lane & Claire absolutely loved it! From robots to animals to Disney-like rides, and a walk thru rain forest....we absorbed it all.
Afterwards we took a taxi to the famous Bund, a huge walkway along the river with a spectacular view of the Shanghai skyline. Our intent was to walk along it but the heat got in the way...it was HOT! Eve told us it was more beautiful at night so we may return later to enjoy it when the sun is down.
