This is going to be a quick entry.  I will definitely come back
and add some photos later, and possibly some extra dialogue.

We flew into San Jose on Thursday.  Our flight was early.
VERY.  We had to get up at 3:45 am to be at the airport by
5:00.  Surprisingly Portland International was actually crowded,
but the lines moved quickly and we had no issues getting to our gate,
or onto our plane, on time.  We arrived in San Jose about 8:00 in
the morning.  Early enough that I wasn't even supposed to be at
work yet, had I have remained home.  Ah well, we were on vacation,
so what did I care?

Karen's dad picked us up at the airport and whisked us off to their
house where we were fed a fine breakfast.  We sat around and
chatted most of the day, intermixing food with conversation at times,
and then got ready and headed to the graduation which was scheduled for
6:00pm.  Let me say that a graduation ceremony for 513 kids takes
a while, but it was worth it to see how happy Charles was.

Saturday, our second day in town, we went to the art museum at Stanford
University, which was pretty good.  I reommend it if you happen to
be in that area.  After that we headed for a movie theater, also
called the Stanford, near the University.  This place is
cool.  It's been refurbished to it's original state and shows
older mostly black and white films.  We were lucky enough to see
The Golden Cadillac and Bringing Up Baby.  Both excellent
films.  The great thing about this place is that the admission
price is very reasonable, you get to see two movies, the popcorn is
very cheap, and an organist rises up out of the pit during intermission
to play a couple of tunes before sinking back down before the second
show.  It's a great experience and also highly reommended if you
happen to be in that neighborhood.

Otherwise we spent the time visiting and hanging out with Karen's
sister and her family.  Thanks to them for the fine place to stay
and the good company.
