well if this is not paradise, i dont know what is!!

It is really beautiful here, white sandy beaches and clear blue seas, with tons of fish - all different colours.

We have ventured off of the main island out to the yasawas and manuca islands.  Our first stop was to Nacula island to stay at Nabua lodge at the top of the small islands off the west coast of the mainland.  Our trip over was horrendous to say the least.  Poor Jonathan was VERY sick - we think from food poisoning and to make matters worse a cyclone was on the way which made the boat very rocky - people were seasick all around.  I managed to be ok after lots of horizon staring!

When we got there, jonathan was in a daze and crashed in the room while i met the other 11 people also at the lodge.  Everyone was really nice and friendly and we were told to give j sprite, which after the night worked amazingly and he was able to walk again - he couldnt keep water down so it was pretty good.

Anyway we survived the cyclone that hit that night and we stranded on the island as the boat wouldnt come through the storm!  Was pretty wierd and it rained all day which wasnt good... however its veyr hot now and hardly a cloud in the sky so thats all good!

We have also been to Otto and Fannys which is on the island opposite Nacula where the food was out of this world - i though of you a lot liz! - i told them to make a cook book!  On otto and fannys, we took a trip out to the swa-i lai caves (think thats what its called!) where you jumped into the first cave and swam to a small hole where you have to dive under (holding your breath) and pop up into the next cave.  I was a bit wary of doing it - it sounded quite scary and it was!!  Both of the cave waters were very deep so you had to tread water and the second cave was pitch black with a low ceiling so we felt claustrophobic.  When we were in the second cave the guide also told us that an eel and a red snapper live there too - great time to tell us that!  He had a torch which stopped it from being dangerous, but we were glad to get out of there! - especially as the tide was coming in and the cave fills up!  Definitely an experience not to miss, but not to be repeated.

We are staying on Mantaray Island now which is the most comfortable that weve stayed but the most expensive too.  We are off to Octopus resort today for a couple of nights which sounds very nice.  We have seen a few creepys - a HUGE millipede that jumped out of js shirt when i picked it up off the floor and at the last place there was soooo many ants - they crawled all up your legs oh and we had a big crab at the entrance to the room which was trying to stop us entering, with his claw up which was funny but scary too! - we also ate crabs for tea that night which was funny as the crab was gone when we came out of the room.  There are crab holes everywhere - some are the size of dinner plates and we heard that crabs steal things off the clothes line for their beds!

Best be off as time is running out and internet is sparse and expensive ont eh islands.  Much love to eveyrone, thinking of you lots and sniggering at the cold!! (however dont be too jealous i have 98 bites from mosquitos!- not too attractive!)

lots of love em and j xxxxxxxxx
