Its 3.41am. Our train is delayed at a place called Bohumin, somewhere near the border of Poland. The estimated delay has been increased from 14 minutes to 60 minutes. Sleep isn't really a realistic option, though there are people giving it a go, around me, sitting, slouched, lying on the floor, by my feet, in doorways and the corridor. Its hot. The train reeks of dry sweat, body odour, feet and general filth. There are eight of us crammed to a 'cabin.' Theres not enough space for eight people to be comfortable in here with luggage.
Having said all that, it could have been even worse. The six others we share this aromatic nightmare with are all decent reasonable people. Theyre all around our age, an American guy, two English girls, a french guy and two girls. For the first hour or so, it was even fun, passing the time by learning a french card game called African Tarot. When the game ended about 4 hours ago, so did the fun.
Our eventual destination is Krakow. We will arrive, I hope, eventually around 7am and make a 20 minute walking journey to our hotel. We have a day to recover, before a day to explore the city on Saturday, and tour to Auschwitz on Sunday.

Well, for the record we made it. We got into Krakow around 7.30am. We grabbed a maccas breakfast, and on zero sleep, trudged half an hour to our hotel. We arrived a bit after 10am. No rooms available. We sat, we waited. We got in a room around 1 and slept until 3.30pm. We headed into old town for dinner, and enjoyed a delicious Polish feast. The Polish Platter had Schnitzel, sausage, roast potato, black pudding and a spicy sauce. Nat chose an excellent pork knuckle. The beer wasn't bad either!
