I will be driving the ALCAN highway, with Rachel, Ciela and Jazmin!
Todd: So why do I want to leave Alaska? Yes, Alaska is beautiful, but it simply cannot afford the opportunities I need to be truly happy. I am not an isolationist, I crave social contact...and the Lower 48 abounds with my social needs.
Also, admittedly, I chose the WRONG degree to stay in Alaska. Sorry Professor Jones, but I should have thought of that before signing up. I love photography and art, but I cannot achieve what I want in Alaska - it simply is not sustainable here. I am not a landscape photographer at heart and that is what Alaska is ---- landscapes in isolation.
The weather in Kenai is 45 and rainy. The car is shiny from excitement and so is Rachel! I think she's been up since 6am, for the 3rd day in a row. She has repacked the car for a 4th(???) time. Sigh, I love her.
Here is one of my all time favorite poems by J.R.R. Tolkien
The Road goes ever on and onDown from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone,And I must follow, if I can,Pursuing it with eager feet,Until it joins some larger wayWhere many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say.
