Well the trip from Kenai to Glennallen only took 6.5 hours with stops instead of the 8 hours that Google Maps told us.
We left Soldotna at 11:05am, almost a full hour after we meant to leave, but breakfast with Chris and Austin was worth the delay. The weather was churlish and spiteful, as if the sky turned its bruised eye at us and spit on us all the way out of town.
Rachel: We finished packing the bed and Dad and Todd took it over to the shipping place. After that we said our goodbye's. It was very emotional! We ate breakfast with Chris and Austin at Sal's, after Todd sobbed that he was about to miss saying goodbye to Chris. As we drove the song “I'm moving on” by Rascal Flatts
seemed very touching today, made me cry. Soon afterward Todd cried too....about missing Chris already."I'm going to miss Chris, A lot.”
Todd: We drove for awhile, quiet and introspective. Although we were deep in thought, Rachel suddenly looked over at me and said, "Seems like Texas should have 2 s's" We laughed for awhile. As we drove we started keeping track of gas prices for gas buddy in
hopes of winning a $250 gas card. It's difficult being on a budget. Once in Anchorage we stopped to get gas and fruit (apples & nanas!) I think "it" finally hits us as we leave Palmer
that we are leaving Alaska.
Arriving in Glenn Allen, we met up with Sam and her fiance Alex, who treated us to dinner at the Princess Lodge! They also let us stay with them overnight. Thanks to you two!!

That trip to Anchorage was difficult for us too, very emotional. Once we got to Seattle though, we both were in a fantastic mood :)
Keep us posted through Canada eh?
PS - I was gonna say it was har* on us instead of difficult, but the profanity filter though we meant something else... ehehe giggidy!
We miss you already. Every time I look at the photo on the wall I think of you three. Will be virtually stalking you to "Texass" thanks to this travel blog!
Wow! This is cool!
