Just got into Bergen Last night after 2 days of camping and hiking in the mountains in central-north norway...
Some great stories for ya...
So i bought Kyrre a bottle of hennessee, knowing how he loves the finer things in life such as coniac...
When you buy someone a bottle of super-nice coniac, you expect it to be thouroughly enjoyed... i had no idea we would enjoy it as much as we did!!!
After Sleeping at Kyrres Familys Home Near Oslo, we started our journey towards the mountains of Bessegin, We would be camping in the mountains then taking a 10 mile hike before heading to Bergen, where Kyrre lives with his Girlfriend. Naturally, with a long hike at 8am in the morning the next day, we decided to each buy a six pack (SUPER EXPENSIVE IN NORWAY. btw) and enjoy the night a bit. In Norway, the sun goes down but it never really gets that dark, because we are so far north...
After playing some drinking Jenga in the lodge, we were kicked out to the benches, where we decided to open the bottle of henny and tell some stories...
Before we knew it, we were singing drunken "stand by me" and slurring our words, between the three of us (mikey excluded...) Rob, Kyrre and I had polished off a full bottle of the stuff. Perhaps it was my constant argument that it was impossible to do so that made this effort so easy, but damn... we got it done!!
And DAMN- It HURT in the morning... We boarded the ferry to start our long hike and had our day packs set, unknowning of what was to come ahead.
The hike was like trecking through different countries, on different days... The weather changed every hour, from super sunny, to freezing rain... At one point we stopped to hve lunch at a lake, where Kyrre made sure that i jumped into it with him (rob n Mike declined) Mind you this is all Glacier and Ice water... and we didnt have swim suits... Hope you enjoy the pics!!!! My point is that about 1 hour later we were climbing a STEEP ascent of the climb in the pouring cold rain, with rain jackets and full gear on!!! What an amazing experience...
After checking out bergen nightlife last night, we are just hanging around the place right now, let the journey continue!!
Moral of the Story: Anything is possible as long as someone tells you it is Impossible!
PS: BIG SHOUT OUT TO MATT WALLRATH, THANKS BUDDY! MATT DECIDED TO ADD TO MY "TRAVEL FUND"... HIS 25 DOLLARS PAID FOR ABOUT 2 DRINKS AT A BAR IN BERGEN!! WOOHOOO!!!! NOW IF ONLY EVERYONE PITCHED IN!!! Thats like 100 + beers at a posh bar in bergen!!!
No but seriously, thanks buddy, Cant wait to be back home in Rose Town.
