Cricket has always been popular in India - more so than in Britain now - and especially so at this time of the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Yesterday was the semi-final against Pakistan and almost everybody in Kolkata had their eyes glued to a TV, or their ears glued to a radio or mobile phone. Fortunately India won and there was much jubilation and fireworks on the streets yesterday evening. The final is on Saturday, against Sri Lanka, which will be less politically dangerous if India loses!
1) The phone companies are offering special packages with ball-by-ball updates.

5) All types of transport: motor-bike, bike cart, Ambassador taxi, and some decrepit buses (of which there are hordes here)
