Not the Wan Chai Warrior I once was, but striving to be.

The wind had died down but the rain hadn't. The weather did not in any way reduce the population walking around town; it appeared to be business as usual.

I vaguely remembered covered walkways from my last visit (22 years ago) but initially they were hard to find. Once we did locate them, we tried to restrict our outside movement to when the rain subsided to a torrential downpour.

We made our way toward Wan Chai. Council workers were very busy collecting the fallen trees and branches across the city. Their job was made more difficult by the torrents of water gushing down paths and roads. Many drains were blocked with fallen foliage causing pools of water to form. Ironically, walking through one such ankle deep pool we passed a completely empty water feature.

We had a pleasant and inexpensive lunch beneath one of the newly erected skyscrapers near the Star Ferry terminal then headed back toward Causeway Bay. Passing through Wan Chai, I recognised very little from visits past so we settled for a couple of beers at the (appropriately named) Typhoon Bar.

Dinner was at a restaurant in the Times Square complex; 9 floors of shopping and one of dining. The rain had eased a little and the tower was only a block from the hotel.
