We made it back from Halifax without getting any more speeding tickets (thank goodness)!
Joel's daughter Alurra was over for the weekend so rather than nap and veg and be hungover messes, we took her to Victoria Park in Truro for some swinging and a little winter walk. It was so beautiful. The day was warm enough that we didn't freeze our buts off. A tuque and some mittens made it totally bareable (okay honestly, how do you spell that word?). It made me realize I don't do simple things like that enough. It was the greatest day. Cost absolutely nothing. Amazing photos. Great exercise. So many laughs. It's official. I need to get outside more!
Later that night Alurra went home to her mom's and Chelsea came back from work and we figured some drinks may be in order (yes, because we didn't get enough in us the night prior, haha). Turns out that in the small town of Truro, EVERYTHING closes at 5pm on Sundays. When we realized we were SOL with the booze, we figured at the very least a nice dinner.... Nope. Grocery stores, closed. Geez! Our ONLY option was the skeezy pub downtown (with the four different names) for some pool and cheap beers. This is the place we went last time I was there where Chelsea forbid me from sitting on the toilet seat. Only hovering was acceptable in this gem of a place. Haha. Anyways, it still made for a nice low key night. Pool and beer. And then home for some gymnastics and pull ups??? Hahaha.
And Rein and I cuddled up to our horribly uncomfortable couch-cushions-on-the-floor bed, haha. Was there Pink Floyd this time at least? I don't even remember...
