Well, here we are finally! First lemme tell you about the pool we ended up in.....
Li'l old us vs Ontario (came in 2rd last year at Nationals), vs Quebec (came in 3rd last year at Nationals), vs Alberta (won the gold last year on the "B" side) and finally Saskatchewan (were in the top 5 last year)........OUCH!! Literally at time......but WOW did we step our games up for it!!
So, yes.....first game was against Alberta and we ended up losing 3-0. Let me tell you though it was a phenomenal game. We really stepped into our zone quickly, no real game 1 jitters....we just stepped on and played. We didn't get many chances in the offensive end but our defensive game was solid! Considering we were playing against a team that won Nationals 3 years ago with most of the same players on the roster, we did very well.
So, with game 1 under our belt we are off to get something to eat and then will be back at the arena for our next game at 6:30pm vs Ontario.
