Wellington, what can I say...I had IPM today and so I had to remain on the ship.  I worked in the EC and looked out the window while checking in and out books and DVD's and the sky was OMINOUS.  I guess that happens a lot though, very changeable weather, as the country is long and narrow so the weather whips up fast and dissipates fast as well.  Next time we come back this way I hope I have a good report for Wellington.  Looking out the window at the back of the stadium and trainyard in nasty stormy weather doesn't cause me to have positive feelings toward this port at the moment.

I was so tired looking out the window that I decided after my shift that I would take it easy and catch up on my sleep.  Today being New Years Eve I was called to the Van Gogh Lounge to help with the balloon drop (blowing up a ton of balloons and placing them in a net attached to the ceiling) and was so tired I could hardly keep my eyes open.

After finishing the balloon drop I went to my cabin and slept for about 4.5 hours or so, maybe it was longer.  I got a call at one point from my coworker Alyshia saying that she was back on board and would work her shift in the EC so I didn't need to.  At that point I was still exhausted so it was the best news I'd had all cruise.  Up to this point in the cruise I have been very energetic and raring to go overall, but today I just couldn't keep it together.  Maybe yesterday's sun in Picton wore me out.  All I know is that I didn't eat dinner, I slept until 7 pm and then got ready for work.  Because of that I was awake until Midnight with the teens, they are super cool this cruise, and we did a countdown in the Loft.

The countdown on the ship was a funny fiasco.  I went by my watch and we counted down, the TV's and Van Gogh mainscreen had a different countdown and the cruise director was 2 seconds ahead of the TV countdown.  Technically our ship did 3 countdowns!  Quite amusing really.  But any which way you look at it the new year is here and here to stay!  Blessings to you all this new year.
