I LOVE Greece.  So far every port I've visited in this country is beautiful and green.  Navplion is no exception.  I stepped off the ship right in town this morning and the streets are cobble with lots of little shops and squares.  Walking up a steep road (there are tour buses that take groups around - the hop on, hop off variety - as well) I made my way to several different churches that were quite ornate with carvings, mosaics, and statues.  I got off the ship right at 8:30 AM before the town opened its doors and it was scenic and serene, my kind of touring.  I loved being able to just walk all around without crowds and big city noise and traffic.  This town is definitely a quaint village with all the small town charm.  By 11:30 AM when I needed to begin heading back to the ship to work the temperatures were rising and the streets were filling with more people and cars.  I find it curious that the cobble streets are lined with shops and racks from the shops spilling onto the "sidewalk".  Cars and scooters drive right through all of this even though it feels like a pedestrian zone.  A word of caution in Greece, on these types of roads there are not traffic signs so always be aware of what is going on around you so you don't get run over while browsing the store's racks and walking in what look like pedestrian zones.
