Where I stayed
Blue Mountain is a destination not to be missed, in fact I'd rather stay here longer than in the CBD (City Business District).
It’s a day tour to Blue Mountain and pick-up point is at the Swiss Hotel at William Street (about 20mins walks from Hostel).
Tour bus, GrayLine, stop us by Featherdale Wildlife Park> Echo Point> Scenic Ride>(I opt for self-jungle trekking down to the valley) > 50 degree tram up> they drop me at some 300m from my hostel. I miss out some of the tour like the Olympic park and so on which I did pass by earlier on at the river cruise.
The day tour start in 7.45am in the morning and end around 2pm where I stop halfway before they make the rest of the itineraries from Katomba, Olympic Parks and CBD. It's a win win situation where I get to drop by my hostel at Katoomba and they save the trouble to fetch me back CBD hostel.
After check-in to Blue Mountain Hostel, I Shop for some groceries at the newly open Coles (Super Market) and I walk some 1km to the local Sport-centre which offer indoor and outdoor swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and other sport facilities. I paid $12.50 for the entrance which I think a bit lavish, for it's not so impressive facilities but I did enjoy myself after some nice energy draining walks and jungle trekking before this. Sink my fat body into the chilling pool for a few laps at the swimming pool before dipping into hot boiling Jacuzzi and sauna room. Naturally sleeping is not problem at all especially Blue Mountain Backpackers Hostel offer a big jump of quality services& facilities compare to Elephant Backpacker hostel.
