Where I stayed
on board MSC LIRICA
The port of Casablanca is great (the greatest of Morocco) and we had to walk a long trail up to reach the city. Then, we took the Boulevard des Almohades, which runs between the walls of the Old Medina and the fence of the port. We were walking more than an hour from the east to west corners of the lower Old Medina, ever alongside the fence of the port. Then, taking the left where the Rick's cafe stands, we go up a long slope up to the great mosque of Hassan II. The walk is long althoug worth: we viewed the picturesque lower Medina and rests of some ancient european fortifications.
Once achieved the target which I had conceived early in the morning on the ship, then we took a taxi in the upper Old Medina for visiting the Bazar.
We spend time & money and then took another taxi for going back the port. I remember to have eaten splendidly in a restaurant inside the port. which I have tried to identify upon Google maps without success. However, as I remember to have filmed the place, once the film be edited, I thing the matter will be solved. Is a place which I can recommended without risking a penny. Impressives (and cheap) the imperial's prawns. However, i still remember that both taxi's courses were most cheaper than a Kilo of dates at the Bazar. In those times, taxis still had taximeters.
Only two pictures survived from that experience. However I have edited a 5 mn film about the walking up to the mosque and I hope to prepare another on the bazar. Commentaires are, of course, in spanish, my native tongue. I have planned to edit them also in english, as I have did with the labels, but as this task takes many time I prefer to postpone it up to all neccesary videos to complete visual information about a travel have been edited.
