And so we came to the end of the lollipop.

The last day was spent at the cabin running the dogs round the same routes as day one.
Hans had wanted to take us on a new trail, but the snow was wrong.
We were more than happy to run the same trails again.
The day was warm at about zero. Ooh Yes!!

That means that the day before a little melt took place that then re-froze overnight...slippery.
Up comes the sun next day and melts the weeniest bit at the surface. Super slippery.

It was the last day. Bring it on!!!.. I think that I was still in a sugar rush from the day before, ( remember the macaroons? the chocolate, the soft white icing? Ooh Mrs, Stop it!!

Anyway, I had something to prove, No-one laughs at a Sami reindeer Herder and gets away with it
No Sir !!
So, same routine ,sleds tied to the tree or truck with quick release hooks. 6 dogs each and off!!

It was indeed fast and slippery, and being warmish, about minus5 I had less clothes on, (but still respectfully clad ) so was able to move in a lithe and quite delicious manner.
I was King Tim Sami Superhero. In truth I suppose I got a bit carried away with myself.......I got ahead of Jeff, which doesn'thappen often, still, I was King Tim, Sami Superstar.......
and then  I wasn't

Over I went, flying like the Snowman story..." we're walking in the air"  Crunch!! back to planet Earth.
It was a corner that we had all crossed 8 or 9 times...but add a dash of dashing, a spodge of Pride and a memory of youth and there you go , spitting your dentures out in front of your peers.
Humiliation Extremis.

Back up and on we go.   I came off another time in similar situation, but hey,
 ....thats Snow Biz!

We had a great morning and in fact the extra speed was a good test of the weeks progress ,which after all, dear Reader, was a practise trip for next year.

Because it was the last day , all stress was off and Jeff and I were whooping and laughing the whole day. Bottom Line, all great fun.

That was Friday  That night we all met for drinks and somehow the wheels came off
Some one spiked my tea with Rum
Jeff got all giggly and Colette despite having a number of Chardenay;s under her belt was needed to maintain decorum.

All in all  judst waht the Doctor ordered.

Yesterday  was all about packing and a final Macaroon. during the evening we went out for dinner
to a local restaurant with Hans, Susie and William.
We had a great meal and great fun, but best of all , Hans and William had been planning a set of trails for April 2010. It was quite endearing how much thought they had put into the plan already.

For the record and on behalf of Colette and Jeff, we want to say that the whole week it was a priviledge to be in Hans, Susie and Williams company.
Every day was interesting and exciting and fun.

A big sincere Thankyou to them  from us.

OK we fly in about 2 hrs and i'm getting poked to press "send"

Thanks to you , dear reader for being there

Well done chaps! It's been great reading your tales and I am so relieved you all made it through without too much injury! What's next to conquer Tundra boys and gal???

Well done.
Great hearing about your adventures, while we are sitting around a log fire with a large brandy.
