Right now Im typing in Stoke-on-Trent, at my parents house. Whilst setting up this blog I'm also trying to sort out all of the last bits and bobs of sorting out my travels. I've set up a Aussie bank account, bought an International Driving Permit, finally got my travel insurance sorted and purchased a suitcase/rucksack.

Now all i have to do is try to get out of my phone contract - shouldnt be too tricky...and pack. How hard can it be you might ask? Well trying to cut down 26 years and 5 houses worth of life, into an, albeit big, rucksack that will have to suffice for the next 2 years of living in the great unknown, well its not proving to be all that easy. Bring into the equation work clothes and play clothes, it being winter when i arrive but will soon be summer, some travelling and some living in an urban metropolis it's fast becoming a fully avoidable chore. Hence setting this blog up - procrastination has always been a strong point.

It was really sad leaving Manchester and all of you who live there. Ive spent the last few weeks in denial, hugging people goodbye but almost not believing it and therefore coming across as a bit nonchalent about the whole affair, but i want you all to know that now i've actually left the city it's really starting to hit me how much im going to miss you all. The thing that actually hit me hardest was watching all of your goodbye messages. I cant thank-you enough, Jen, for organising it, it is the nicest and most thoughtful and precious present i've ever had. And a huge, probably tearful thank-you to everyone that sent in videos for it. I spent an evening bawling like a baby, in between the comic relief that some of them provided!

Hopefully I'll have chance to write again before i leave, so you can see how close i get to panicking before i find i'm actually packed and ready! If not, i'll see you on the other side!

So long fairwell...
Only the little sprogs out of the Sound of Music could challenge your fairwell efforts, I am so impressed you have managed to travel the length of the country to ensure no one feels left out! Some things you want to ensure that are in your suitcase....brazil Y-fronts, Steve Erwin's drinking snake and your camera to document all related activity! I hope you have a good last day in the UK, kissing the ground and all that, stuffing your face full of oatcakes no doubt! Try not to burn the tea-towel before tomorrow's excitement. Will chat to you tonight -loads of love
