We were stung overweight fees for our bikes at the airport amounting to $60 US and we argued the point that we had not been charged overweight on our trip over, only to be informed that the people in Darwin had believed we were coming over for the Tour de Timor (which according to North Air allows no over-weight charges). Begrudgingly we handed over our $60US which left me with about $4 US left from the trip. Only to realise that we still had to pay a $10US departure tax which Graham ended up spotting me for.
After this it was through customs and a short wait before boarding our flight back to Darwin. On our wait
On arrival back in Darwin we booked a hire car for the day to allow us some transport for the day whilst we waited for our Brisbane bound flight - departing at 1am Sunday morning.
We checked out the sights of Darwin and caught a movie before watching the sun set from a beach in Darwin. After this is was hurry up and wait until our flight.
After this it was off back home and to see the families.
