Today I took another "free" walking tour, this time to the Buda side.  Again, the history and views were spectacular.  Nazis, Communisits, etc.  I saw this one building that still had bullet holes in it from WW2.  There's a statue of a man on a horse near a local university here and the horses balls are shinny but the rest of the statue is not because all the students rub the balls for good luck before exams.  I thought that was funny/awesome/they should probably just study harder.

I also ate a great local lunch of veal stew and dumplings.  Walked to hero's square.  Went to a terror museum that showed the dark past of the city.  And had a great coffee and cake at a local cafe.  Cafes are famous here.  The writers/hippsters of the past used to love to go to them all the time to chill.  They threw the keys of the cafes into the river so they would have to stay open 24 hours.  Also, there used to be codes like if you asked for an expresso with six sugar cubes you were really asking for an escort.  And if you stuck your fork straight up out of your cake you wanted to be an escort.  My waiter was kinda of snob when I asked for a water refill so instead of tipping him the expected 10 % I only tipped him 5%.  Apparanty, Hungary is also known for their wine.
