Hi everyone,

Well Tim and I have had a very busy few weeks as we slowly settle into life in New Zealand.

I am now working 7 days and week, trying to gret some money back into our very dry savings account. Tim is working on the weekends still but work is picking up so I think he will have something full time soon.

We just got back from 10 days in beautiful Australia as my little sis got married on the 6th February. We had such a great time the weather was absolutely beautiful the whole time and it was so good seeing all of my family again.

We left Auckalnd early on the 1st February and had a really quick, super nice flight across the ditch to Adelaide. After a long wait at the airport we finally arrived at Port Lincoln airport where my dad and my little dog Morrie were waiting for me.

The first few days were constant wedding business. Dresses needed to be fitted. They were the cause of much concern as the week before the wedding was in fact the first time any of the bridesmaids were seeing their dresses. I was fitted on Tuesday and the other two girls were actually arriving the morning before the wedding and the dresses would need to be fitted. It was definitely cutting it fine!

I also had catching up with friends, nails to be done, tanning to be done and spending time with family members. I met my new little cousin Lexi who was only 5 days old and absolutely beautiful. Tim weas great as usual and although probably bored with all the wedding talk did not complain once. I promised that as soon as the wedding was over we would be able to spend some time together.

Friday was very busy, making sure the Yacht Club was up to scratch (it wasn’t) and everything was organised. The manager of the Yacht Club where the function was being held was completely lazy and dirty and I even had to polish the cutlery and the chef had to scrub and clean the kitchen. There were still potatoes and meatballs in the over from who knows when! It was disgusting and not good enough from one of the major function places in Port Lincoln. He only left us 24 champagne glasses for a wedding of 90 people and when I asked him where the others were he was speaking to someone and said sorry I have to go because these people keep asking me to do things! I couldn’t believe it it really wasn’t good enough and very disappointing. However after all the cleaning and decorating was done everything looked great ready for the grand event the next day.

Well Saturday was the big day and I cannot even gush enough about what an amazing day it was. The weather was stunning blue sky and warm. We were in the salon early to get our hair and makeup done and had a few glasses of Pink Champagne, it was great. We then did all the usual things before a wedding, got dressed had a few photos and drank a bottle of Bollinger. Before we knew it 2 beautiful cars pulled up to take us to the ceremony. A maroon Jaguar and a Valiant. We stopped past my great grandmothers unit as at 95 wasn’t strong enough to make it to the ceremony but Katie and Mum wanted to get some photos with Nanna. It was a bit emotional for all as Nanna is getting old and you never know what the future brings. I was nervous about the ceremony (as was Katie) as I had to read a poem and I only saw it that morning. We pulled up at the beach, the flowers were amazing and it was so nice seeing everyone waiting. It was a quick simple ceremony and then party time began. A really nice night was had and the 4.5 kg lobster really topped it off! Katie and I finished the night dancing to the iconic Aussie song Skippy, brilliant!

The next few days we relaxed and Tim caught his first squid! It was great at Murrays point fishing with my 2 main men, Dad and Tim! We also had a great day at the beach the day before we left. Out at Fisheries, blue blue water, lots of sun and a good group of people. We had a lot of fun and then it was time for a farewell roast dinner at Nanna’s. She even made Christmas pudding so I was a happy girl as I had missed it the last two years!

Our flight back was early but good and now before I know it I am back at work, working 7 weeks with no day off!!!!

Doooeeeeiii
