Where I stayed
After a long day of travel, we lost count at 8 bus/boat changes. Everything is going good, the beach isn't as nice as the one in Koh Phangan but it is the Indian Ocean instead of the gulf of Thailand / South China Sea.
We went swimming in the Indian Ocean today and the water felt like about 80 and the air is about 85-90 it is so nice here.
We rented a scooter bike for 250 baht about $8 bucks
A meal costs from 40 baht to 200 baht or from $1.00- $6.00 At most places... Some see us coming from a mile away and I have seen sea food on the beach in Ice buckets in front of nice hotels and they will let you pick what you want to eat and charge up too 500 baht about $15.00
100 baht is about $3.00
I don't know how much the bus ride was because we bought tickets from Koh Phangon to Koh Lanta It was 350 baht $11.00 but that included 3 different boats and 4 bus rides ... They gave us stickers to put on our shirts and moved us like cattle. There where a lot of people traveling from the east coast to the west coast because of the party I think. We didn't meet any Americans until we got here. The people running our hotel are Muslims. He asked if USA? and I said yes and he smirked... I feel a bit out of place walking around in my swim suite but seems they are used to it. I Always put on clothing when walking into the lounge area. even though it is right on the beach. All the women must be hot they are all covered. I have even see young girls with their hair covered.
We are renting a truck tomorrow to explore down the Island where the tuk-tuk's wont go because you need 4x4 We also meet some friends from Finland they are going with us. Our hotel room was a bit expensive but we have a bungalow just off the beach and by expensive I mean $40 night for 3 travelers not bad... Anyway what else I bought a few summer dresses for about 200 baht each $6.00. And I am being charged by the min for Internet so talk more later.
XOXO
