Our next stop was Yosemite National Park. Our first day there (Sunday), it was raining when we woke up. By 9:30 it stopped raining and cleared up. We waited until around 11:30 til it dried off and I proclaimed "Its turned out to be a great day, let's head into the park on our scooters its not that cold." The ride into the park was 18 miles. As we climbed in elevation and the temperature dropped, I knew my wife was ready to have my hide. When we started to see cars leaving the park with snow on and when the snow started raining down from the trees on us I knew I was really in trouble. We did make it to the visitor's center in Yosemite Valley where Donna managed to thaw out and threatened to book a room at the lodge and let me ride back to camp myself. We did end up enjoying the later afternoon hiking around the valley enjoying the scenery and scoping out a hike for the next day.

Today we drove into the park in our RV and tackled hiking to the top of the Upper Yosemite Falls. The hike is 7.2 miles round trip and climbs 2700' in elevation. After 3.5 hours we reached the summit. WOW!!. It was spectacular, the views of the falls on the way up, the view of the falls from the top and the views out over the valley floor. God certainly did not spare any of his glory and splendor when he created this little niche of His creation. After a 45 minute lunch break at the top (baked beans and hotdogs over a pocket rocket burner). We headed back down. 2-1/2 hours later we were back in our RV. An exhausting and physically demanding day, but well worth it.

We left the park and drove to Fresno where we are staying the night at Walmart. Tomorrow we are off to Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks.

Loved ALL of those parks! Did you lie down on your belly and hang over at the top of Yosemite Falls? Was Glacier Point open? Did you see many bears? Coyotes?
