Due tu the reason that I often travelled with Ryanair (they depart from and land in Riga) I have often been in the capital city of Latvia. I really like the city. There´s a huge old town, nice Art Nouveau houses, the market halls and an amazing restaurant called Rosengrals (medieval athmosphere and food - TAKE CARE, PORTIONS ARE SO BIG, EVEN FOR ME A SOUP IS ENOUGH). Also a good place to eat is Vanille Cafe. Three times I also visited Jurmala, a nice village at the Baltic sea, only 25 km away from Riga. Riga is not as cheap as Vilnius, but in my eyes more beautiful.
