I was in Hurghada for so long that it was almost New Year's and I hadn't made any other plans so I decided to spend it with the boys. They've created the website for a large hotel so we were able to get a discount at a sister hotel that happened to be an Eco-resort. I was excited to stay somewhere that was environmentally sustainable, even though it was still a bit expensive with the discount. So we stayed the night and since it was so quiet we decided to go to the bigger hotel for New Year's Eve.
The larger hotel had a big party with a band and dancer's and the whole deal. It was a bit cheesy but it was a party so we all had a lot to drink, a little to dance, and a lot of fun. It was also really interesting to people watch at this high priced hotel in the middle of nowhere. There was a lot of Hawaiian shirts, tight little dresses, and bad dancing!
The next day we splurged on a morning of scuba diving in a completely secluded reef. It was perfect! The dive lasted for at least 75 minutes and was shallow so I was able to get a couple good pictures of the baby reef sharks we saw. We also saw about a million oysters! It was a great dive and a great place and we were considering staying for another night, but a couple of the guys needed to get back to work the next day and I felt that the hotel was too expensive to stay another night so we left that afternoon. There's nothing like starting the New Year's next to the ocean :)
