I had intended to spend Christmas in Goa and then travel across southern India until my departure on the 10th of January. However, with all the problems with my apartment, I decided that I really needed to go back to Geneva and get that all sorted out.

I booked a last minute flight and arrived home on Friday the 13th and proceeded to spend the next 4 days getting everything ready for the hand over of the key. It was a very crazy time and I am so grateful for good friends jumping in and helping when I needed it most. Then I spent a couple more days helping my friend Tony finish moving out of his place, since he left to get married on the 18th, again many thanks to helpful friends. I finally had a couple days to breathe before Christmas, but it was quickly full of errands and friends.

Since I was in Europe I decided to stay and enjoy Christmas where it actually feels like Christmas! Hot sunny India, just didn't feel very Christmas like. It was VERY rare to see a Christmas tree. The typical decoration for Christmas in India is the Christmas star. I actually quite liked this, as it truly does symbolize the real meaning of Christmas.

So, on the 23rd I drove across France and spent the holiday with my husband and his family. It was lovely to be with them all. We took the older nieces and nephews ice skating on Christmas eve, then came home to get ready for the big family Christmas dinner. We were 31 in all. I didn't count the courses but we started around 6:30pm and ended shortly before midnight. Of course there was a lot of talking and time between each course, to digest a little and catch up since we were last all together two years ago. We even had a visit from Santa for the little ones before dessert.

Christmas day we slept in and there was again a meal with all the family and the next couple days were spent visiting dear friends in the area, going out to dinners, as well as getting in a nice sunny walk along the northern coast of Bretagne.

On Saturday we headed back to Geneva for some skiing and more visits with friends. We were fortunate to get 4 days of gorgeous sunshine and decent snow conditions. We resort hopped from Flaine to Morzine/les Gets and then Mougins/Champoussin/Avoria/Chatel and finally Grand Bornand. I sure do enjoy skiing in the Alps, where you can ski in several different resorts in one day. On New years eve I think we crossed the border between France and Switzerland 8 times, several times on skis. On our way home on New years eve we stopped in on friends and enjoyed an aperitif before heading over to the big New years party at the Stake Center. We didn't stay late as we had plans to ski again on new years day.

When the weather took a turn for the worst in the mountains, we contented ourselves with the 50 meter pool in Geneva. I was happy to get in 1500 meters, since I am sorely out of shape. Saturday we parted ways and I headed back to India to continue my tour. So be expecting more updates soon :).

Love you, Sis. Glad it went well. Looking forward to talking to you again.

Enjoy the Goa trance, (Infected Mushroom is my fav) but be careful not to accidentally ingest anything. :D
