Ok figuring out the NYsubway is NOTHING like BART! Holy geeze! I made my way onto 5 different trains (I was really supposed to only get on 3) to go from JFK to Manhattan. I ended up going in the wrong direction once, and getting off the train one stop too early the next time. BUT! After about an hour and 20minutes, I reunited with my good friend slash 4CornersSister slash "cousin", Steph! Yay!

OMG! There. Is. SNOW! I know snow isn't that big of a deal, but I haven't seen any in almost 2 years so I got really excited! It actually made me smile, just how I would arriving in a sunny place after living in fog for too long.

I underestimated the wind chill factor and thought it would be ok if I didn't bring any gloves. Boy was I WRONG! My fingers were ready to fall off by the time I met up with Steph. I had to resort to sticking my little hands into the front pockets of my jeans. Luckily they're stretchy and my hands are fairly small. We headed back to Steph's place to drop off my stuff then went to grab a bite to eat at Shake Shack! I must say, those "pan de sal burgers" were pretty damn tasty! I'd definitely come back for some.

There wasn't any more room for a Shake Shack... shake so we went on a hunt for gloves instead. No luck. Rite Aid... Duane Reade... Nope! They had tons of flip flops and spring/Easter gear out though!
-_____- After searching far and wide (not really), we gave up and resorted to some Starbucks coffee. I probably should've gotten a hot drink though. Weemp womp! But I got a cool souvenir mug and sucked it up. I hope we can still be friends after my fingers have fallen off from the cold.

During our "hunt", we also came across Tom's Restaurant (pictured below), which was featured on the show "Seinfeld". This is where they shot the Soup Nazi's famous "No soup for you!!" scene. *mindblown* I hear the food's not very good, so Soup Nazi can keep his soup.

Gotta run! I'm about to meet up with an old co-worker from the Bay! Updates to come!

Update 2:15am -
I'm back from an evening catching up with a friend who I met at my last job (before moving to LA). She had moved out here to attend grad school at NYU. I met her at the subway station then we walked down to Amsterdam Tavern. We figured, A-rating and pretty good ratings on Yelp. Why not? We went in, ordered a pint of cider each, and began catching up on the last year since we've seen each other. Liking their Facebook app prompted us to order a shot each of well-grade tequila. Whatev's, it was free! We then ordered a Stella Artois each before redeeming our "$5 Jack Daniel Shot with check in" from the Yelp app. It was really nice catching up! Lots of laughs and a little piece of home (the Bay) was just what I needed! It's about 2am here and I'm actually tired so I'm gonna call it a night! ...more visiting with friends tomorrow! Yay!
