Next mornming we raised the anchor and proceeded down Malaspina Strait, stopping at Secret Cove for fuel, and then motoring a short distance to Bucaneer Bay on Thormanby Island to spend the night. This anchorage is shelted from all winds except for winds from the NorthWest. It boasts sandy beaches and warm tital pools between North and South Thormanby Island - great for swimming in warm weather. Malaspina Strait has Texada Island on the South side and the Sechelt Penninsula on the North side. Texada Isalnd is almost feratureless along this shore, and offers no anchorage to speak of. However, the Mainland side offers the entrance to Jervis Inlet and fables Chatterbox falls at the head of Princess Louisa Inlet, Agamemnon Channel and the bustling area of Pender Harbour. Pender Harbour has several marinas, goroceries, fuel and makes a great stopover up the strait. It is also shelted form all winds. The shoreline from Pender Harbour to Secret Cove has little anchorage, but it is a scant 10 mile run in any case. Secret Cove has 2 marinas, groceries, fuel and supplies as well.
