It was still raining when Papou pulled in to the palace ruins at Mycenae. But we got the Lion's Gate to ourselves for a while, quite a luxurious treat, and then we had fun going to the peak of the palace walls and taking pictures of each other under our umbrellas. Godiva made recordings of the acoustics in the Treasury of Atreus, the beehive-shaped tholos tomb, where you could stamp your feet and hear the sound echoing sharply inside. The last time I was here, there were too many students inside to hear the echo. The same places look completely different when it's just Godiva and me.
