Where I stayed
The Honey Shed -- the homestead of Beth and Keith

Well, folks, the time has come for me to move on. I am leaving the city of Auckland tomorrow heading to my destination on the Coromandel Peninsula where I will be working with the fine folks at Karuna Falls Cooperative Society. This means a couple of things; first, I will be surrounding myself with more people, and by the sound of it, some younger people. It turns out that there will be a couple from Ohio and a guy from the UK wwoofing at the same place as me for the week. Hopefully we all get along, and maybe I can find some nice travel companions. It also means that this steady access to the Internet may be over. Because of that, I may not be able to update my blog as frequently as I have been. Hopefully you all don't mind too much. I will do my best to let you all know how I am doing when the time is right.

My last night here at Beth and Keith's was fine, more rain, which is expected by now. I was recruited to participate in Beth's film on organic gardening. My role was a blindfolded taster for a test comparing organic, home-grown asparagus, and that bought from the supermarket. It was hardly a scientific test; the asparagus specimens were obviously displayed - they were two different sizes, so I could easily tell which was which. I also introduced myself holding gardening tools in a cheesy, awkward way, which I am sure turned out great.

But I am grateful for the hospitality, good food, and comfortable accommodation I have received here from Keith and Beth. My stay has been helpful and has given me a little direction and some solid ground to make decisions from. So, even though I have complained a bit about their habits and the situation, I must say that it has been worthwhile and I am glad I was here.

I guess that's about all I've got for now. I hope the coming days and weeks treat you well. Be kind to each other, and be kind to yourself. I will talk to you all soon. Wish me luck on a new leg of my journey.

Peace,
Collin

Happy Birthday to me
Grandpa, Grandma, and I are over at Nancy's to celebrate my 63th, Lindsey's 28th, and Anna's 20th. We enjoyed reading your travel adventures. Grandma liked the honey shed. Will be waiting to read about your adventures. Hopefully your next destination will have some other kindred travelers. Stay safe.
