Just a quickie

So we decided to do a road trip with some friends we met up with in Cairns....that we originally met on our sailing trip around the Whitsundays.... the road trip crew were B, Tony, Katy, Nic, Me and Zo.  Katy was designated driver and we left Cairns heading for Cape Trib.  After a few hours on the road we arrived and took in the views of the rain forest....very humid, but excellent views and a good way to start the day :)
After the day in the rain forest and wandering along a beach (apparently one of the few beaches in the world where sea and rain forest meet)  we headed to port Douglas...found ourselves a hostel... .the first one we came to looked good but after a minor disagreement with reception we trekked on and found another.... although the next hostel was a little more pricey and a little further out of town we decided to stay anyways as our principles took over!
The night was spent with Thai food, lots of white wine and pictionary....bloody brilliant...also a small frog in our room.

Big brekkie in the morning followed by a trip to the marina...here we decided to rent a boat, bloody good idea seeing as everything is cheaper when you travel in numbers and we split the rental cost.  We were given a map, some top tips on where the crocks might hang out and pointed in the right direction of the river.  I was given the job of head skipper and happily took us up the river.....we seen 5 crocks in total, some saltwater, some fresh, one a baby and one bloody massive.... a good sight seeing tour and happy to have spotted some crocks in the wild.

We then headed to mossman gorge where the plan was to swim.....we were getting ready to get in when someone mentioned the dreaded word "leach" so we decided to skip it!

Headed back to Cairns where tony and Nic cooked us all up a loverly spag bol.

Today we went to get our malarial tablets...REALLY expensive..so we have a limited supply that will last us for china and then we are gonna get some more in hong Kong.  I also asked about a weird bump on the back of my hand and ended up getting an xray (luckily free as i blagged a Medicare card :) )  don't think it is serious but the doctor said he will e-mail me if it is :0

Anywayzzzzz were off to Japan in the morning ....cant bloody wait, capsule hotels, anime, technology, sushi, geisha's...whoop!

Talk to ya from Japan

Peace x

Wow, your trip sounds fantastic! So many things to see in such a short amount of time! It really does sound like you had a wonderful time and will happily look back on this entire journey for years to come. I live in Cairns and haven't even done half the things you guys have, it's crazy!

Anyway, the best of luck to you and to your future!
