So...........

After our eventfull bus ride to La paz we have been here for a few days now.  Its the highest capital city in world...basically meaning that i am out of breath after walking up a flight of stairs!  Its an amazing city from a distance, basically built within a crater!

What have we been up too......relaxing hanging out in a group of 9 (people we had met in Copacobana)

Checking out the witches markets...... very wierd, dead baby llamas hanging up, and i think i seen a skinned dog!  Will try n get some loverly photos!

Anywayz the main thing we did is a road called death road...... for a buzz you can ride down it on a mountain bike........this is what we did!!

Some info on the road here:   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yungas_Road

It is said to be the most dangerous road in the world..... up untill the last 2 years when a new road was opened on average around 300 people a year were killed here!  It basically a stupidly narrow road with stupidly steep sides.

During our ride down we stopped off at different points and our instructer informed us of where different people had died!!  Sadly A 57 year old American died 2 months ago when he fell over the side riding a bike and his hips twisted 180 degrees on landing.

So there are lots of deaths hence the name...and why it claims to be the most dangerous road in the world.

We raced down it at stupid speeds and it was one of the most adrenalin pumping things i have ever done!!  Highly recommended.

Even though there have been quite a few deaths on bikes... the majority we were told were in cars.... and we seen several car wrecks at the bottom of the hill!  So we were glad to know we would be taking a different route home in the jeep............  or maybe not, this was prob even more scary because a bolivian guy who has been driving this road for 13 years (obviously too cocky and confident) decided to take the death road back in the jeep to save us half our..... he was hitting the corners at nail bittign speeds and i was glad too make it back onto the tarmac....overall though a bloody good trip :)

Im about to get on a 12 hour night bus to uyuni  where will be completing a four day jeep tour of the salt flats!!

Love to all
