Where I stayed
Ello!
Just before leaving Lima we enjoyed some good chicken, some cocktails and a windowless taxi ride home!!
managed to sort out a bus to Cuzco, and were told it was going to be 23 hours, thought this was a bit much as the first bus company could do it in 18 but did it anyway....ended up being a 30.5 hour bus journey. Not too bad as they fed us and its pretty much like first class on an airplane or at least business. In summary good views, good food, excellent views, bloody freezing.
So have been taking it easy today, wandering around Cuzco, there is some kind of festival on with loadsa kids dancing around in costume etc...fun to watch. Had a real thinly sliced steak today... picked a random name from the menu.... after looking at the pictures on the wall we decided it could possibly be Guinea pig...but not too sure, tasty anywayz :)
So were getting picked up at 4:30 tomorrow morn to head for the mountains, its a 5 day 4 night trek, reaching altitudes of near 4,000 with 8 hours walking a day. We get a guide a donkey and a cook :) will put up some stunning pictures when we get back I'm sure.... soooo byeee till then (5 days time )
