Today was the end of the summer camp. We all met for breakfast one last time, and then had a compass check by Benjamin Agyapong. By then all the busses were here to take the campers and staff back to their respective homes.

My assessment of the camp this year is that it was a great success.  As I noted before, the attitude and behavior of the campers and staff was something that was noticeable to the people in and around the campus.  The navy men made comment of the difference they saw, and that is a wonderful testament to our camp and program.  They may not know who we are or what we believe, but they did see a light!  It also speaks to the way the parents have raised their children, and the degree to which they each are striving to learn and become better people.

This afternoon I had some time at my new hotel to try and catch up on some work, and then had a Bible study with the Elmina congregation this evening.  By my count we had 63 in attendance.  The entire time was taken up with questions about what happened with the destruction of our relationship with the United Church of God.  A point that was made quite clearly was their great desire that this sort of thing not happen again in the future.  I assured them we never wanted it to begin with, and we will do whatever we can to keep it from happening again.  However, we are human, and we cannot underestimate the power of our adversary.  The study ended with one of the members and then the pastor, Adonijah Blay, emphasizing the need for us all to be praying daily and fervently for the entire Church.  Very wise sentiments, and well stated.
