The next day it was time to say goodbye to Cusco and hello to new adventures.  We hopped on a bus and set sail for Lima.  The roads were again totally dodgy, winding through the mountains.  Trying to sleep on super windy roads in slippery seats and with a driver that likes to slam on the breaks is nearly impossible so pretty much no sleep was had that night.  20 hours later we pulled into lima.  From there we taxied to the airport where we ate pizza and doughnuts while we waited to board our plane.  The flight wasn't too long and before we knew it we were touching down in Columbia to change planes.  It was sometime late at night and we both extra sleepy.  The airline started boarding passengers which took 1.5hours, ridiculously long.  We sat in our seats as the plane started boosting down the runway then suddenly they slammed on the brakes.  We didn't know what was going on and braced ourselves thinking we might crash into something.  The plane stopped and from a mixture of Spanish and English over the intercom we think a hydrolic line light came on and the brakes had overheated stopping so we would have to wait for them to cool down.  An hour later they told us the plane had burst a tire and we all had to deboard while they fixed it.  It was now the early hours of the morning and we sat on the ground waiting.  Next thing we knew an announcement was made in Spanish and people started heading back through the airport.  Asking around we found out that the flight was delayed until the morning and we all had to head to a hotel for the night.  Again we waited in line to get out the airport for ages and then got on a bus that seemed to take forever to get to the hotel.  More waiting inline to get a room with grumpy passengers.  Eventually at 5.30am we got a room.  They were super flash but all we got to do there was sleep for 2.5hours before getting up again.  Downstairs we found out that we had missed out on a buffet breakfast because we can't speak Spanish which was totally lame cause we hadn't eaten in forever.  A bus took us back to the airport where they gave us some fully useless vouchers as compensation that can't be used for anything.  Again we boarded the plane, this time it took off and all the passengers clapped and woohooed.  Seven hours later we were soaring over LA and the blue ocean.
On the ground we caught a bus where we were given a full on safety brief before departing.  Upon getting off the bus we went to cross the road and a lady ran out with a little stop sign holding it up and giving us the all clear to cross even tho there were no cars around.  We gave Kaleb a buzz and he turned up in a ute with his brother Jacob to pick us up.  Kaleb's place is awesome.  Its still being finished, but you can already see its going to be the place to be on completion.  Its a huge old studio that they have put some walls up in to make rooms.  You can even skate inside.  After checking the place out and meeting some of the other occupants we headed down the road with Cameron, Jake, Kaleb and a red cart to get some grocery's.  We bought  5 liters of ice cream amongst other things walked home.  That was about it for that day and we lay down our sleepy heads.
The plan for the next day was to check out Hollywood.  We caught the metro across town and walk out the station straight onto Hollywood Bolivar.  The foot path is covered with all the stars, stars.  They go forever and the further you get away from the center the less names you recognise.  Down some roads you could see the Hollywood sign up on the hill.  We walked past a bunch of museums, Hard rock cafe and Capitol records before deciding to check out Hooters for lunch.  The waitresses really do have super short shorts and tight low cut tops.  The food was really average tho, quite disappointed.  We wondered for a while longer and then made our way back to Kalebs house.  Back at the house helped smash the plaster off one off the walls to get the brick affect (totally artistic).  Everyone that lives in the apartment are into different kinds of art and they are setting up the place for that.  Another day came to an end.
The next day we pilled into a car and boosted to Venis beach.  Venis beach is a sweet place to hang out.  The streets are filled with stalls selling various things and busker's entertaining the crowds.  Theres also basketball courts, rollerskating circle (all black guys dancing round) and an awesome skate park.  The beach has nice with sand with waves crashing, but the water is quite cold.  We walked along the beach up to Santa Monica pier and then a little into town where there were even more busker's.  We stopped in at McDonalds which satisfied our hunger.  Again we got our stroll on and headed back to the car as darkness started to roll in.
In the morning we decided it was time to head to Vegas so spent the day organising that as well as watching a movie (City of God) and playing xbox.
