We toured Niagara Falls many times, but always from the same visited touristy areas. I wanted to see these falls from different angles. My research on Google showed an access road to Goat Island that splits the mighty Horseshoe Falls from the American Falls. The combined of which forms the highest flow rate of any waterfalls in the world, with a vertical drop of more than 165 feet or 50 meters. Leang and his wife, Kong, came with us for the tour
The only relief from the hot weather was a brief rain shower. The wetness cooled us a bit, but when the sun reappeared the humidity drove us into the air-conditioned malls. With so many people inside, the place wasn’t any cooler than what we would like it to be. We ate delicious Asian food cooked by our Canadian family; I learned that my 2nd cousins are Haitian Canadians -- very bright boys. I do have to mention that on one of those afternoons after we had toured the Canadian National Tower, I had perhaps the worst experience in service at a Chinese Restaurant called, “Pho Hung Restaurant”, on Spadina Boulevard in Toronto. I ate dragon fruit which I dubbed “dragon balls” due to the thick hairy purplish-pink shell. It was very succulent and not that sweet. I also ate logans. We had some time before returning to the States so we stopped by my uncle’s. He’s my Dad’s oldest brother and still smokes heavily. I spoke to him about cutting back and walking around the neighborhood to stay in shape so he could extend his life. It’s hard to change after living some seven decades. He resembles my Dad a little. I invited him and my aunt to visit the Grand Canyon with me -- all expense paid. They need to see that "ditch". LoL!!
