As I mentioned in a previous entry, if I didn't know better I'd think I was in Arizona. The palm trees and other vegetation remind me of Scottsdale. Even the dirt is quite red like it is in the Phoenix area. I believe that that is due to the high iron content. Another thing that is quite interesting is the size of the rock formations. I've only got a few pictures of those so far, but they have a very Sedona-like look to them. Some are quite large and uniquely shaped. Unfortunately, many are getting blasted away in order to make room for the new construction. I would have hoped that there would have been a way to integrate the rocks into the overall design as I think that it would be quite striking that way. An interesting contrast of the natural and man made.

Just one question about the rock you see in the pic where you are driving - are those rocks on top of the building??!?!??!

Although it looks that way, the rocks are a bit distant behind the building. It's just the perspective of the photo that makes it look that way. Having the rock on top of the buliding would be pretty cool though!
