Having had just three hours sleep in my last night in Buenos Aires, I managed to get myself up and to the airport for my plane. It was quite an eventful journey home really, the plane first being late for reasons unknown and then having to land unexpectedly in Recife, Northeastern Brazil, when a passenger had a heart attack and subsequently died. Got to Frankfurt hours later than was supposed to, and had to wait around to be sorted out a later connection to Manchester. By the time I had been picked up by my mum at the airport and got home, my journey had taken far longer than a day. I didn't mind too much, though - after seven months being used to buses that arrived when they got there rather than at any scheduled time, I suppose I was used to it!

It was nice to be home to see my friends and family, but also sad that the whole seven-month experience of seeing new places, meeting new people, learning and speaking Spanish and Portuguese, as well as learning so much about South America, was over. Don't worry though, I'm not giving the backpack an early retirement yet - it's atleast got one more big trip left in it! This website believes I have travelled 11% of the world, so I'm currently plotting a way to see the remaining 89%!
