Conceição da Barra, Brazil

I chose, somewhat randomly, the resort of Conceição da Barra, about 5 hours north of Vitoria, to spend some time at the beach before Salvador. It was a nice, quiet town, out of season, not well-known like the beaches further north in Bahia state. I enjoyed some more time burning - i mean tanning(!)- on the beach, then heading for a day to the nearby village of Itaunas. Unfortunately, the original village was spontaneous swallowed by sand-dunes in the 1970s, so the town had to be relocated. It made an interesting short visit, but I was disappointed it was out of season to see the turtle hatchings on the beaches nearby.
