I realize that I left this open-ended. I figure I should probably wrap this up before starting the next one. After my last entry, I got sick. I think it was food poisoning and since all I had that morning was a bottle of water, I'd bet money that the water was tap water. I'm told that this a typical way to save a little money; fill the bottle with tap water and snap on a new cap. Oh well, que sera sera. The food poising turned into a stomach infection, which had me sick for the rest of the week. During that time, I met up with the rest of the students from America and we went to Chao for the archaeology project. I had a really great time. We worked 6 days a week and time that I had off was reserved for sleep, food and laundry, which was done by hand and harder than I expected. I made it out Peru 2 days before the earthquake hit, although I was in the north and it wouldn't have been nearly as tragic for me as for those in the south near Pisco and Ica. I'll include some pictures from the field and from the sites that I was able to see in the North.
